JBJ CITY DEVELOPERS

Gist of the case:-

       M/S JBJ City developers Ltd was incorporated under the companies act vide reg. No V-45201 TN 2004 – LC 054701 Dt.22.11.2004 and as per the articles of association Justin Devadoss @ David and 6 other directors who have joined together to run the business to acquire properties and develop/improve such properties and promoted as individual plots to sell or otherwise dispose of such properties to the public.

                   2.The directors of the company had announced and published that they are doing Real Estate business in the name of M/s JBJ City developers Ltd and if any amount deposited with them  would fetch double the value of amount within six months from the date of deposit. Further  they have lured the public to deposit their money in JBJ City Developers Ltd and in order to accumulate the funds alleged to have been entered into a memorandum of agreements with the innocent public and had collected full amount by way of giving false assurances. Expect A1  Justin Devadoss and A2 Bella Justin other 5 directors were resigned in the year 2007.

        3.In order to accumulate more funds they had started several sister concerns under various names in different places. Such as 1-JBJ City developers,   2- JBJ Builders and promoters, 3- JBJ Tour and Travels, 4- JBJ Hotels and resorts, 5- JBJ chits, 6-JBJ Foundation, 7-JBJ Adobe  Lee Headges,   8- JBJ Relief  Fund,   9- JBJ Executive welfare Fund, 10-JBJ Mercy Scheme.

        4. In this regard two case in EOW-II Cr.No.09/09, u/s.420 IPC and 01/2010,  u/s. 341, 352, 506(i), 420 5 of TNPID Act. have been registered on 16.12.09 and 25.01.2010 respectively and is under investigation.  So far 3478 aggrieved depositors who have lost their money preferred their complaints involving a sum of Rs.39,13,82,607/- with EOW-II, Chennai. 

 Accused details :-

A1-Justin Devadass @ David Arrested by Bangalore Police and subsequently produced before the Hon’ble CMM Court Egmore.

 A2-Bella Justin –Arrested.

Accused Justin Devadoss @ David was detained under Goondas Act on 20.02.10.

IV. Efforts taken by EOW-II:- 

 

A1 Justin Devadoss @ David was arrested by the Bengaluru state Police and was lodged in the Central prison, Bangaluru.  He was produced on P.T. warrant before the C.M.M. Court Egmore, Chennai on 18.01.2010 from Bangaluru Central prison and taken on custody on 20.01.2010 for 13 days.  After interrogation he was produced before the C.M.M. Court, Egmore on 01.02.2010.  He was detained under Act 14 of 1982 as a “Slum Grabber” on 21.02.2010 by the Commissioner of Police, Chennai City Police.

 

                 During the course of investigation the following movable properties were seized and sent to the court.  10 Bank Account were identified and the balance amount have been freezed  and account statement were obtained.

VI. Latest Development:-

 

Proposal for the attachment of properties with connected record have been sent to the Spl.P.P. (Civil) TNPID Court in the month of April -11 for offering his legal opinion.

 

     The opinion of the Spl.PP (Civil) TNPID Court will be obtained early and the proposal for the attachment of properties identified will be sent to the Government.
