Under TNPID Act 1997 two special courts have been ordered to be constituted at Madurai and Coimbatore as per G.O.No.1018/2007, dated: 05.07.2007 and notification fixing the jurisdiction of the courts has been issued as per G.O.No.31/08, dated: 10.01.2008.

    The Coimbatore TNPID Court has been inaugurated on 03.05.2008 by the Hon'ble Minister for Law Thiru Durai Murugan and Hon'ble High Court Judge Thiru Justice M.Jaichandran in the presence of Hon'ble thiru Pngalur N.Palanisamy, Minister for Rural Industries.

    The Special Court is located in the 2nd floor of the Principal District and Sessions Court complex, Coimbatore. Hon'ble Judge Thiru J.Krishnamoorthy is appointed as the Special TNPID Court Judge, Coimbatore. This court will be having jurisdiction of the following district units namely Coimbatore, Erode, Salem and Namakkal.
