Thiru. D. Mukherjee, IPS, Director General of Police, Tamil Nadu inaugurated the website of Economic Offences Wing, on 4th April 2007, in the presence of Tmt. Archana Ramasundaram, IPS, A.D.G.P., EOW, Tr.Anoop Jaiswal, A.D.G.P, CBCID, Tr.Narinderpal Singh ADGP Crime and other senior Police Officials at a function held in the library hall, Admiralty House, Govt. Estate, Chennai.
Tmt. S. Rajeswari, Superintendent of Police, CCIW CID delivered the welcome address. Tmt. Archana Ramasundaram, IPS., ADGP EOW in her address emphasized the need and importance of EOW website. Tr. D. Mukherjee, IPS DGP, TN in his presidential address mentioned that this website will be of great use to the aggrieved depositors of defaulted financial institutions investigated by Economic Offences Wing as it includes details of latest refund made, steps initiated for further repayments, status of prosecution of accused involved. The DGP also mentioned that this website will be of great use to the general public as it provides, informations, contact and addresses of all officials of EOW, Land Mark Judgments, notable convictions and Latest developments of all the cases. The public can also send their queries suggestions and provide necessary information’s about accused and their properties through Email.
